Work with me

Let's make the bigger role feel a whole lot lighter.

Bigger responsibilities? Higher expectations? A whole lot of people counting on you?

Whether you're the one in the bigger role or the person responsible for developing the people who are, you've probably noticed something.

Getting someone ready for a promotion and helping them succeed after it are two very different things.

The title changes. The expectations grow. The decisions get more complicated. And the habits that made someone so successful yesterday? They don't always translate neatly into what tomorrow requires.

That's where I come in.

I'm Angela Knight, an executive coach, former regional executive, and someone who's spent more than 30 years helping talented people do some pretty remarkable things.

I work with smart, stretched-thin women who want their bigger role to stop running their whole life. And I partner with organizations that want their investment in their people to show up as stronger decisions, healthier teams and better business results.

Because getting to the next level was never supposed to cost you your evenings.

Find Your Way to Work With Me
Angela Knight in a coaching conversation with a client

First, a little reality check

The promotion happened. So why does everything feel harder?

Maybe you've inherited a larger team, a more complicated set of priorities, and a calendar that leaves approximately seven minutes for actual thinking.

Maybe you're still solving problems your team should be handling, avoiding a conversation with a difficult peer, or wondering why the job you worked so hard for feels like two jobs at once.

Or maybe you're looking at your organization's most promising people and wondering why some of your strongest talent is struggling after moving into bigger positions.

Different perspectives. Surprisingly similar challenges.

I call it Promotion Shock™. The gap between earning the role and knowing how to operate in it.

And it rarely gets resolved by another time-management trick, motivational speech, or one-size-fits-all training program.

What helps is understanding what actually needs to change... then having the right support to make it happen.

Less proving.

More owning.

Two ways to work together

Two paths. One shared goal.

Whether you're investing in yourself or developing the people your organization is counting on, we'll start with the real challenges, not a generic playbook.

For you

For the woman in the bigger role.

You earned this role. Now let's make sure you're not spending every waking hour trying to prove you deserve it.

Private coaching gives you a confidential place to think, untangle complicated situations, rethink old habits, and get more intentional about how you lead.

We'll work on what actually matters in your day-to-day world, from tough decisions and executive relationships to building a team that doesn't need you to rescue every project.

For your organization

For the people you're counting on.

You've invested in finding, developing and promoting talented people. Let's make sure they have the support to deliver at the next level.

I partner with organizations, HR executives and senior decision-makers to strengthen what matters most when responsibilities expand: sound judgment, accountability, communication, delegation, and the ability to get results through others.

Through coaching, consulting and facilitated sessions, we address the challenges your people are actually facing. And for retail companies, I offer custom consulting built on 30 years inside the industry.

The ways we can work together

Think of this as the menu.

We'll figure out what fits.

Own Your Role™

Private executive coaching

For the woman who's ready to stop proving herself and start enjoying the role she worked so hard to earn.

You got the promotion. Congratulations!

Now, about that workload, those tricky relationships, and the feeling that you're somehow supposed to be doing two jobs at once...

Own Your Role™ is my signature private coaching experience for women navigating bigger responsibilities, higher visibility, and the sometimes uncomfortable shift in how they see themselves.

This isn't about turning you into someone else's idea of a successful executive. It's about helping you do the job you already earned... without it taking over your whole life.

This might be for you if:

  • You're still deeply involved in work your team should be owning.
  • You second-guess decisions that used to come naturally.
  • You're navigating new peer relationships, executive expectations or organizational politics.
  • You're responsible for more than ever, but have less time to think strategically.
  • You want to feel like yourself again... just with your evenings back.

What we'll work toward:

Making decisions without endless second-guessing. Setting boundaries without guilt. Developing people who can operate without constant oversight. Finding your voice in higher-stakes conversations. And making room for the work that actually belongs at your level.

What's included

9 private sessions over about 4 months: your Energy Leadership Index (ELI) assessment and debrief, plus 8 one-on-one coaching sessions every other week.

It's personal, practical, and built around the situations you're facing right now.

Your investment and payment options are shared during your coffee chat.

Executive Coaching for Organizations

Organization-sponsored coaching

Because promoting your best people shouldn't feel like crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.

You identified someone with tremendous potential. You gave her more responsibility, greater visibility, and a bigger opportunity to contribute.

Now comes the part that matters just as much: helping her succeed.

I partner with organizations to provide personalized coaching for newly promoted directors, senior managers and high-potential talent navigating expanded responsibilities.

This is especially valuable when someone is moving from being a strong individual contributor or functional expert to leading through others, influencing across departments, or carrying more strategic responsibility.

This might be a fit when:

  • A newly promoted executive is struggling to let go of previous responsibilities.
  • A high-potential manager needs to strengthen executive presence, influence or decision-making.
  • Team results depend too heavily on one person's involvement.
  • Organizational changes have created new expectations, reporting relationships or uncertainty.
  • You want to support a valuable person before frustration or disengagement becomes a bigger problem.

Engagements are designed around the individual's transition, specific development priorities, and the outcomes your organization wants to see.

Workshops & Team Development

For organizations and teams

Less “great presentation.” More “we're actually going to use this.”

We've all attended workshops that sounded wonderful in the moment and were promptly forgotten by Tuesday. That's not what I'm interested in creating.

My workshops and facilitated sessions are built around the real conversations, decisions and challenges managers face every day. The kind that show up in performance discussions, executive meetings, competing priorities, and the moments when accountability gets a little uncomfortable.

Popular topics include:

  • Promotion Shock™: Navigating the move from earning the role to owning it.
  • Delegation without the boomerang: Building ownership so every problem doesn't land right back on the manager's desk.
  • Difficult conversations: Addressing performance, expectations and sensitive issues with clarity and care.
  • From doing to directing: Shifting from hands-on execution to developing people, setting direction and delivering through others.
  • Accountability that actually works: Clear expectations and follow-through, without micromanaging.

Sessions can be tailored to your audience, priorities and desired outcomes.

Speaking & Executive Events

Keynotes, women's leadership events & executive groups

A conversation they'll still be thinking about on the drive home.

Sometimes the most valuable thing a speaker can do is put words to something everyone in the room has lived through but nobody has quite known how to explain.

That's what I love about speaking.

My signature topic, Promotion Shock™, explores the often-overlooked transition between earning a bigger role and truly owning it.

With relatable stories, thoughtful questions, a little humor and practical takeaways, I help audiences spot the habits and assumptions that keep smart, hardworking people stuck doing their old job.

Speaking engagements can be tailored for corporate audiences, women's leadership initiatives, executive development programs and professional associations.

Custom Retail Consulting

For retail companies of every size

Thirty years inside retail. Now in your corner.

Retail moves fast. Margins are thin, teams are stretched, and what happens on the sales floor doesn't always match what the plan says on paper.

I spent more than three decades in retail, rising from the sales floor to regional executive roles with Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, The Limited, Pier 1 Imports and Ulta Beauty. I know what it takes to hit the number, build the bench, and keep good people from burning out along the way.

Whether you run a single boutique, a growing regional chain or a national brand, I'll help you find what's getting in the way... and build what's missing.

Strategy Days & Strategy Labs

Focused, facilitated working sessions that get your team out of the weeds and aligned on priorities, decisions and next steps. One day or a series.

Strategic Needs Assessments

A clear-eyed look at what's working, what isn't, and where the real gaps are across people, operations and performance. Findings you can act on, not a binder that sits on a shelf.

Executive Retreats

Thoughtfully designed off-sites that give your senior team room to think, reconnect, and make the decisions that keep getting pushed to next quarter.

Operational Program Design

Store, district and field programs built for the real world: clear standards, simple routines, and accountability that actually sticks.

Succession Planning

Identify and develop the people who'll run your business next, so your next promotion feels like a plan instead of a gamble.

Advisory Retainer

Ongoing access to an experienced retail executive for thinking partnership, gut checks and guidance as decisions come up. Like having a seasoned operator on speed dial.

Custom Packages

Need something that isn't on this list? We'll build a package around your goals, your timeline and your budget.

So, what makes working with me different?

I'm not just familiar with the challenges. I've been responsible for the results.

Before I became an executive coach, I spent more than three decades leading teams and operations for brands including Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, The Limited, Pier 1 Imports and Ulta Beauty.

I've run multistate businesses, developed the people who ran them, navigated organizational change, and made decisions with real consequences for people, performance and profitability.

I know the pressure of delivering results through others. I know what happens when competing priorities collide. And I know even the best strategy can fall apart when the people side isn't working.

Today, I bring that experience together with my training as an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC). Which means you get more than someone who can ask thoughtful questions. You get someone who understands the business realities behind them.

Real conversations

No corporate theater required. We can talk about the complicated, uncomfortable stuff without pretending everything is fine.

Thoughtful challenges

I'll support you, but I won't automatically agree with you. Sometimes the most valuable thing I can offer is a perspective you haven't considered.

Practical application

We work with actual decisions, relationships and responsibilities. Not hypothetical situations that sound nice in a workbook.

A human approach

Growth can be uncomfortable. It doesn't have to be intimidating, overly complicated, or completely devoid of humor.

And maybe most importantly, I won't assume that being successful means doing more.

Sometimes the biggest shift comes from recognizing what you can finally stop doing.

Not sure where to start?

Let's make this easy.

You don't need to know which service you need before reaching out.

Maybe you're looking for private coaching and want to talk through what's been weighing on you. Maybe you're an HR executive exploring support for a newly promoted manager. Or maybe you're planning an event and want something your audience will find genuinely useful.

We'll start with a conversation.

01

Tell me what's happening.

Book a 30-minute coffee chat. Share the situation, challenge or opportunity that brought you here.

02

We'll explore what would actually help.

I'll ask a few questions, offer perspective where it's useful, and we'll talk about what kind of support makes sense.

03

Decide on your next move.

If working together feels like the right fit, we'll talk about what that could look like. No pressure. No elaborate sales pitch. Just a thoughtful conversation about what comes next.

Ready when you are

Ready to make the next level feel a whole lot better?

You've already done the hard work of getting here.

Whether you're navigating your own next chapter or helping someone else succeed in theirs, you don't have to figure everything out alone.

Let's talk about what's possible.
